May 4th and 5th was the 125th Annual Great Vallejo Race and Pancake Breakfast. This 2 day race starts in Berkely, rounds a weather mark near Alcatraz and then finishes at Mare Island in Vallejo. It was a pleasure to help at the Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Vallejo Yacht Club.
I had the pleasure of going to the Ribbon Cutting for the new Vallejo Navigation Center today. The Vallejo Navigation Center will be a "one stop shop" that will provide services and shelter critical to helping address homelessness. The center will offer 125 shelter beds for six months (with potential extensions if a housing plan is made) and provide individual case management, connecting people to social and medical services. Participants will also have access to job training and be assisted in becoming prepared to secure and sustain permanent housing. The center will serve approximately 200 people annually.
Today, April 20th, We volunteered at the Vallejo Watershed Alliance Earth Day Cleanup along Blue Rock Springs Creek. It was a great day to meet the community-based volunteer group, hear their concerns for Vallejo, and share in their habitat restoration efforts!
On Saturday April 6th I had the pleasure of volunteering with the SOMIRA as they hosted the Skipper Whipper race near the Vallejo Marina. The team dedicated this race to two of their rowing club members that have sadly passed away since February, Dennis Albright and Dale Robbins. Dale and Dennis were long time rowing teammates that will be greatly missed. SOMIRA took 1st place in the Men's,1st Place in the Master's, 2nd Place in the Women's & 3rd Place in Mixed races.

It was an honor to be recognized by Congressman John Garamendi for the work I have been doing for the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) community. Sharing my own experience and knowledge that I have learned as the Caregiver of a TBI survivor has been rewarding, enriching, educating and helping to build a supportive community for others
